Nortrax
Nortrax raised $75,000 for the Travis Mills Foundation at its annual golf tournament and auction.
Held on Aug. 16, 2019, in North Yarmouth, Maine, participants were able to play a round of golf, enjoy a BBQ lunch and participate in the live auction. For non-golfers, $20 bought them a ticket to lunch and the auction.
The event's new name — The Nortrax 11th Annual Golf Tournament and Auction —is part of the Nortrax culture of giving back to the community.
John Paradis, Nortrax territory manager, was the founder of the event and with his sudden passing in May 2019, Kelly Labbe, event organizer/administrator; Kim Voisine, event organizer/administrator; and Mike Sullivan, general manager of Nortrax-Westbrook and event organizer, worked very hard, and with help from Kathy Paradis (John Paradis' widow) and the Travis Mills Foundation, the event surpassed the previous year's $55,000 raised.
"We also are very appreciative of the contributions made by Origin USA owners, Pete and Amanda Roberts. Their generosity and support helped us attain our goal. Origin USA is a local business located in Farmington, Maine, manufacturing GI's, jeans and boots…all top quality, American made products," Labbe said.
The Travis Mills Foundation is in its third year of hosting war injured veterans and their families for an all-inclusive, all-expenses paid, barrier-free vacation at its retreat located in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine. Veterans and their families participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation in Maine's outdoors.
