Through Komatsu Forest AB, a wholly owned subsidiary in Sweden, Komatsu Ltd. is acquiring Bracke Forest AB, headquartered in Bräcke, Sweden, which develops, manufactures and sells application-specific attachments for silviculture. The impact on Komatsu's consolidated business results is estimated to be minimal, according to the company. Komatsu concerts efforts in the forestry business, as it upholds the sustainable forestry which not only engages in harvesting and forwarding but also includes silviculture and forest management. SCA's Electric Timber Truck From Scania Has Arrived →
To further strengthen the sustainable value chain, SCA has, together with Scania, developed the world's first electric timber truck with a capacity of 80 tonnes. The vehicle solution, developed by Scania in close collaboration with SCA and the research institute Skogforsk, is part of the transition to sustainable transport. SCA's goal is to make the entire value chain fossil-free. George Weyerhaeuser Sr., former Weyerhaeuser Company CEO and president and great-grandson of the company's founder Frederick Weyerhaeuser, died June 11 at the age of 95. Mr. Weyerhaeuser served as president and CEO from 1966 to 1991 and continued to serve as board chairman through 1999.
