Komatsu to Acquire Quadco, Southstar Operations →

On Jan. 26, Komatsu Ltd. signed an agreement to acquire from Prenbec Equipment Inc., a company based in Quebec, Canada, the Quadco and Southstar forestry attachment operations, excluding the forestry equipment businesses of Tanguay and Forespro delimbers. The acquisition will be made through a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu in the U.S. and is expected to close in February 2018, subject to completion of the closing conditions.  Click for more...

The new John Deere Worldwide Parts Services Regional Distribution Center (RDC) is officially open in south Florida. The 115,000-sq.-ft. facility in Miami will serve all Latin America countries, except Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, which currently have in-country RDC locations. Berry Tractor spent the last day of summer 2017 hosting lunch for the Red Hills Cedar Rodeo west of Medicine Lodge in rural Barber County, Kan. The crowd of approximately 75 attendees, which included dealer representatives, end users and land owners, enjoyed grilled burgers and hot dogs while talking about land management equipment and best practices. Schmidt Equipment hosted an open house Sept. 14 at its new location in Billerica, Mass. After more than 20 years in its previous location on Republic Road in Billerica, Schmidt had outgrown the facility. Coupled with the addition of the Wirtgen Group product lines, the company needed more space for equipment displays, larger repair facilities and additional parts warehouse space. Old Sawmill District of Missoula, Mont., is being converted into a $125 million residential, retail and commercial development that will feature four condominium buildings under the name Polleys Square, and a mixed-use building offering high-end apartments for rent called Cambium Place.
