McCoy Group Inc. a family-owned company based in Dubuque, Iowa, is expanding its business base with the purchase of eight John Deere Construction and Forestry stores serving Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky from Erb Equipment Co. John Deere Introduces New H423, H425 Harvester Head Attachments →

John Deere's new, small-size H423 harvester head and the large-size H425 and H425HD replace the previous H413, H415 and H415HD models. Like its predecessor, these heads have 4WD feed. The H423 harvester head works on the 1070G, 1170G and 1270G wheeled harvester base machines and is ideal for thinnings and other fellings, where the tree diameter at chest height (BHD) is 150 to 350 mm. The 75th Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo was held Sept. 9 to 11 at the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds in Escanabe, Mich. Production Starts at Komatsu's New Factory in Northern Sweden →

Weyerhaeuser Grant Provides Mobile Classroom for Forestry →

Due to a pair of grants from Weyerhaeuser, Louisiana Tech's Forestry program just got an upgrade and became more easily mobile. The Weyerhaeuser Community Grants were awarded to the Forestry Program in December 2019 for the creation of a mobile classroom. Despite the pandemic that altered travel last year and an ice storm in February of this year that cancelled what was to be the classroom's inaugural field trip, the classroom, equipment, trailer and field supplies are now a reality and very much in use.  Click for more...

From Construction Equipment Guide... John Deere announced it has agreed with Hitachi Construction Machinery to end the Deere-Hitachi joint venture manufacturing and marketing agreements. John Deere and Hitachi will enter into new license and supply agreements, which will enable John Deere to continue to source, manufacture and distribute the current lineup of Deere-branded excavators in the Americas.
