GLTPA Hosts 75th Annual Logging, Heavy Equipment Expo →

The 75th Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo was held Sept. 9 to 11 at the Upper Peninsula State Fairgrounds in Escanabe, Mich. Fabick CAT co-sponsored the event with the Great Lakes Timber Professionals (GLTPA). The expo kicked off with a live band and fireworks, sponsored by Ponsse. The expo is the largest logging and heavy equipment gathering in the Midwest. Production Starts at Komatsu's New Factory in Northern Sweden →

Forest machine production will soon begin at Komatsu Forest's newly built factory outside Umeå in northern Sweden. Here, assembly will take place on a single production line, around which the flows of both materials and people are optimized and automated to ensure high product quality and a high level of customer service. Ponsse Manufactures 17,000th Forest Machine →

The 17,000th Ponsee forest machine has rolled off the production line in Vieremä. The milestone machine, a Ponsee Elk built in mid-August, will start its career in the hands of Kuusmoto Oy. "It is a special privilege to hand over the 17,000th Ponsee machine to the Finnish Kuusmoto Oy. Weyerhaeuser Grant Provides Mobile Classroom for Forestry →

Due to a pair of grants from Weyerhaeuser, Louisiana Tech's Forestry program just got an upgrade and became more easily mobile. The Weyerhaeuser Community Grants were awarded to the Forestry Program in December 2019 for the creation of a mobile classroom. Despite the pandemic that altered travel last year and an ice storm in February of this year that cancelled what was to be the classroom's inaugural field trip, the classroom, equipment, trailer and field supplies are now a reality and very much in use.  Click for more...

From Construction Equipment Guide... John Deere announced it has agreed with Hitachi Construction Machinery to end the Deere-Hitachi joint venture manufacturing and marketing agreements. John Deere and Hitachi will enter into new license and supply agreements, which will enable John Deere to continue to source, manufacture and distribute the current lineup of Deere-branded excavators in the Americas. Foley Equipment Hosts Invasive Tree Demonstrations →

Foley Equipment recently hosted several invasive tree demonstrations to give Kansas and Missouri customers a unique opportunity to try out Cat machines and various attachments. The Oregon Logging Conference will return for an in-person gathering after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled last year's live event. The 2022 conference will take place on Feb. 24 to 26, 2022, at the Lane County Convention Center and Fairgrounds, in Eugene, Ore.
