Weyerhaeuser Completes Sale of Initial Carbon Credit Offering →

Weyerhaeuser Company announced an agreement for the sale of nearly 32,000 forest carbon credits at $29 per credit. This agreement marks Weyerhaeuser's first transaction in the voluntary carbon market and represents the sale of all credits issued by ACR for the first year of the company's Kibby Skinner Improved Forest Management (IFM) Project in Maine. Former CEO Jerry Morey announced the appointment of Craig Davis as the CEO and president of Bandit Industries on Jan. 4, 2024. Davis joined the Bandit team in 2018 as the sales director and has shown a tireless passion for the company, customers, and dealers. He also was a part of the Bandit management board and oversaw the marketing and parts managers. The Michigan Association of Timbermen board of directors recently approved the launch of the organization's first major summer event, featuring industry exhibits, logging equipment, milling innovations, emerging technology, entertainment, food and fun for the whole family. The Michigan Forest Products Show will debut in 2024 on Aug. 9-10 in Gaylord, Mich.. at The Ellison Place. Weyerhaeuser Announces Habitat for Humanity Innovation Challenge →

Weyerhaeuser Company announced the Habitat for Humanity Innovation Challenge to encourage new and creative home-building solutions using sustainable wood products. The challenge will task six U.S.-based Habitat affiliates with designing innovative uses of wood products that increase equitable access to affordable homes and demonstrate sustainability or resiliency. Reid Lind's alarm clock goes off hours before sunrise. In the darkness, he laces up his boots, preparing to walk in the footsteps of two great loggers — his grandpa Bob Lind and his dad Mac Lind. Sierra Pacific Industries has named Robert Hoover as vice president of resources, effective Jan. 1, 2024. He will work with SPI's team of professionals that sustainably manage the company's 2.4 million acres of timberlands and provide a steady log supply for the company's sawmills. Hoover is assuming this role following the retirement of Dan Tomascheski at the end of the year. The 20,000th Ponsse forest machine has been completed at Ponsse's factory in Vieremä, Finland. After the celebration on Dec. 11, the Ponsse Bear harvester with Ponsse H8 harvester head will go to a Norwegian customer, Lågen Skogsdrift AS. "It's great to see that machine number 20,000 is coming to Norway and to a customer with whom we have good and long cooperation.
